DESC has been experimenting with four types of program service enhancements to better respond to the rise in behavioral crisis situations involving PSH tenants:

• Drug overdose prevention and intervention
• New on-site staff positions to focus added services for tenants showing signs of personal deterioration
• Improvement of unit conditions and housekeeping
• New rapid response behavioral health crisis mobile teams dedicated to PSH and emergency housing sites

This presentation will describe the changing conditions that led to the development of the enhancements, the components of each of the new services, and preliminary outcomes/analysis of the benefits each strategy is producing.
