OPHRESH (Overdose Prevention and Harm Reduction Education in Shelter and Housing) began in 2024, with the goal of reducing overdose fatalities by providing training and capacity building. This training series includes 5 trainings to 60+ agencies in San Francisco's Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing, in addition to technical assistance surrounding harm reduction and overdose prevention policies. Through review of the first fiscal year of the contract, participants will gain an understanding of challenges and successes of launching the pilot, alongside tips to more effectively carry out similar initiatives to support shelter and housing staff.
