It's no secret that the key to success in supportive housing services is genuine participant engagement. Supportive housing service providers with the best programmatic outcomes are the ones that garner participant buy-in through anchoring all organizational practices to uplifting participant voice and choice. When we engineer services and organizational practices in such a way that lived experience is seen, understood, and celebrated, we can ensure that quality assurance and continuous program improvement are guided by the information that matters the most: the experience of those receiving support. However, creating formal feedback loops and opportunities for lived experience to inform service provision can be a daunting task without the right skillset and guidance. In this session, participants can expect an engaging opportunity to discuss the importance of participant voice and choice in every level of programmatic functions brainstorming with facilitators and colleagues how to bust through barriers and determine strategies for implementing formal participant input. and try strategies in real-time that participants can take home and begin implementing in their own programs.
