Differences in funding, staffing, regulation, and even how communities understand and define Housing First have contributed to confusion about the successful implementation of this evidence-based model. In this session, staff from the Corporation for Supportive Housing will share about their experiences partnering with lived expertise consultants to create the Housing First Sharing Exchange (HFSE), a first of its kind program, launched Fall 2024 in Los Angeles. The HFSE provided an opportunity for a cohort of nine individuals with lived experience to learn about Housing First model fidelity and share their experiences in supportive housing- leading to an opportunity to make an informed decision about their views on Housing First. Subsequently, this collaborative intends to engage stakeholders in a process of shared accountability and effective partnership to scale Housing First delivery to fidelity in Los Angeles County. Workshop attendees will be invited to share their experiences with Housing First approaches and brainstorm solutions for successfully addressing individual, program, city, and state-level implementation challenges.
