In late 2022, a Medi-Cal managed care plan began a collaborated with a community-based organization that had an impressive history of partnering with local employment partners to effectively meet staffing needs, while also providing opportunities for individuals with lived experience and other barriers to integrate into the workplace. Together they sought to address several regional concerns: lack of employment opportunities for people with lived experience and other employment barriers; lack of trained job applicants for positions that would ultimately increase capacity of supportive housing sites; the improvement of job opportunities (e.g. living wage adjustments) for this population; and staff not reflecting the population being served. Join this session to learn how these partners collaborated to offer a workforce training program that made progress on all those regional concerns.
