In the Seattle area, Native Americans make up under 2% of the general population but make up 15% of homelessness and 32% of chronic homelessness (2020 data [last reliable count]). The Chief Seattle Club is on a mission to achieve functional zero by 2029. The trauma endured by different communities is unique and thus needs culturally appropriate responses if we are ever going to get out of this crisis.
