Gabriela Gabrian is deeply committed to systemic change for the unhoused community, Gabriela leverages her lived experience to reduce suffering and improve the effectiveness of housing programs. She strives to demonstrate long-term dedication and foster unity within the Lived Experience Advisory Board (LEAB).
Gabriela hopes to gain leadership skills, particularly in strategic planning and group facilitation, to increase focus, empower fellow EC members, and maximize their contributions toward LEABsv's goals. She believes that a well-defined strategic plan will provide a roadmap for achieving LEABsv's vision, and her facilitation skills will help create an environment where all Board members feel heard and valued. Gabriela’s areas of interest are systems change, effective service delivery models, and policy/advocacy directly impacting the unhoused community.
A founding LEABsv member, Gabriela's passion for advocacy stems from lived experience and her work as a Peer Mentor with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Santa Clara County, supporting those with mental health struggles. Her time with NAMI has shown her the transformative power of peer support and the importance of fighting for systemic change. Gabriela values genuine connection and finds great joy in witnessing the growth and transformation of others, believing that everyone deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential.
