Speaker Bio
Martha Macias is a homeless services expert with over 12 years of experience in homelessness and housing policies that addresses the needs of all three homeless populations: singles, families, and transitional aged youth. She is experienced in program development, policy implementation and program management. Martha has led the effort to move LA Family Housing into a more data driven agency. She believes that compliance and data will ensure that everyone will be treated equally and receive the same services and level of care wherever they go. Martha believes that the only way to end homelessness is to use data to make informed decisions and to monitor progress in real time.

Martha Macias was born and raised in Southeast LA. She grew up a couple of miles from Skid Row and has known that she has wanted to work in homeless services since she was 13 years old. She is the proud daughter of Mexican immigrants and the first in her family to have the privilege of a college education.

Martha Macias has a BA in Sociology from UCLA and a Master’s in Public Administration from USC.
