Anthony Privott Watts, CASAC-T (he/him/his) is currently one of Lantern Community Service's Harm Reduction Specialists (2023 to present), serving two of the agency's Brooklyn-based supportive housing buildings. In this role, Anthony provides group and individual harm reductive counseling to program participants related to how they engage in a variety of behaviors, such as substance use, physical, behavioral and sexual health and navigating healthcare systems, relationships (romantic, social, and family), and community engagement/participation at the building- and broader community- levels. Additionally, Anthony is the staff leader of Lantern's Tenant Advisory Board, which consists of a group of program participants who work to inform harm reduction programming decisions and implementation organizationally and also support concrete harm reduction service and resource provision to peers in their buildings. Anthony plays an instrumental role in fulfilling Lantern's service and reporting requirements as an Opioid Overdose Prevention Program (OOPP) and is also an active member of Lantern's Harm Reduction Committee. Anthony previously worked as a Peer Engagement Specialist at Lantern (2019-2020), using his lived experience to help engage program participants in services and activities internally at Lantern and in the external community, assisting them to live as independently as possible within a supportive housing setting. Anthony's approach to working with Lantern's communities is inclusive and empowering, and he is well known throughout the organization for the ways he invites and celebrates diverse voices and experiences into life-saving work in a way that is joyful, affirming, and deeply engaging.
