Access to affordable housing is a challenge for many older adults. However, members of the LGBTQ+ community have faced additional barriers throughout their lifetimes that can make it difficult to find an affordable and safe home. This session will delve into the importance of investing in LGBTQ+ culturally competent housing services, and it will provide testimony from an LGBTQ+ affirming housing provider and resident. This session will emphasize the importance of collaborating with local LGBTQ+ organizations in order to offer more inclusive housing and services for LGBTQ+ older adults. We will also discuss different approaches housing providers can take to better provide safe and affirming housing for all residents.
