Description

Learn how capacity building and quality improvement efforts of neighboring counties in Northern California evolved into two powerful models of learning and collaboration that uphold racial equity and justice, best practices of housing services in the field, needed recognition of untold success stories and sustainability practices for providers supporting tenants with the highest needs. Alameda and Contra Costa Counties will share how they bring together partners in all roles of supportive housing and create brave space to address sensitive issues of racial equity, barriers in building tenant leadership and the call for a cultural shift in this work since the pandemic. These counties' innovative models are founded in the expertise and experience of housing service providers on the ground, CSH's standards of quality in supportive housing and Continuum of Care training guidelines and best practices. Participants will engage in discussion on training topics, staffing structure, policies and strategies to build, and managing and maintaining a powerfully effective, low-cost capacity building effort that centers equity.
