Kawal is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with ten years of adolescent clinical background in school-based health centers in Richmond and Oakland CA. He joined Alameda County in 2017 as a Behavioral Health Clinician in the MHSA Housing Program. He currently manages the county’s Supported Housing Learning Collaborative which works towards housing stability, quality improvement and capacity building of supported housing programs throughout the county. As a long-time community activist, Kawal continues to uphold social justice and equity in mental health and promotes trauma informed practices, awareness of power and privilege and cultural affirmation in working with those we serve.
