As the Director of Policy and Government Affairs at CSH, she spearheads the advancement of CSH's policy priorities and federal legislative agenda. Kara's profound understanding of poverty, housing, food systems, and child welfare—gained through both professional and lived experiences—has led her to develop multiple successful programs and achieve cost efficiencies in the public sector while improving client outcomes. Renowned for her ability to train and empower individuals on complex policy issues, Kara has inspired audiences at numerous conferences and events worldwide. Committed to building inclusive environments, she fosters collaboration and strong allyship through her work. Kara holds a Master of Science in Social Policy and a Master of Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania, along with dual bachelor's degrees in psychology and art history from Moravian University.
