Why the Supportive Housing Summit?

The CSH Supportive Housing Summit 2025 will convene more than 1,000 attendees to exchange knowledge, discover innovative approaches and prepare for what lies ahead. Over three days, we will feature three plenaries with distinguished leaders and changemakers; 80+ breakout sessions across 10 tracks; 3+ curated networking sessions, new networking opportunities, and much more!

We'll kick off the Summit providing attendees opportunities to reconnect or network at our Summit opening reception. Join us earlier in the day for optional pre-Summit activities or a supportive housing tour.

Summit Tracks

Designing and Delivering Quality Services  

This track offers a series of dynamic sessions that delve into the essentials of service delivery and design. Presentations will showcase successful strategies to support tenants with complex behavioral health needs, inclusive practices that affirm and celebrate diverse identities, and ways to expand your service offerings to better meet tenant needs

Enhancing and Offering Responsive Services

This track explores innovative and creative approaches to tenant-centered service delivery. Sessions will cover ways to adapt current services, enhance service coordination with community partners to be more culturally responsive, improve outcomes, and increase service engagement. By focusing on these key areas, participants will gain valuable insights into how to better meet the needs of their tenants and foster stronger community connections.

Reducing Barriers to Housing

Individuals eligible for supportive housing have often experienced cycles of institutionalization, homelessness, and trauma. This track will focus on enhancing accessibility to supportive housing by tackling common barriers individuals and families face. This includes addressing the unique needs of individuals involved in the carceral (justice) system or other oppressive systems. Sessions will highlight strategies for streamlining the referral process, effectively engaging landlords, and adopting multi-sector approaches to housing accessibility. 

Developing and Operating Quality Supportive Housing Units

This track will feature strategies to develop new, high quality supportive housing units including valuable insights on effective asset management.  Sessions will cover methods to expand the pool of supportive housing developer’s novel approaches to eviction prevention and reduce the fiscal impact of unit vacancies. Participants will take away tactics for boosting the long-term sustainability of their properties. 

Strengthening Supportive Housing Organizations

Affordable and supportive housing providers face multiple challenges. This track is dedicated to improving the effectiveness and sustainability of supportive housing providers. Sessions will address building staff capacity, highlighting the positive impact of supportive housing on both tenants and staff, and coordinating with community partners to enhance program outcomes. By attending these sessions, participants will gain valuable insights into strengthening their organizations and fostering more resilient communities.

Tenant Leadership and Power Sharing

This track highlights strategies to enhance tenant leadership and promote authentic power sharing. Topics will include building tenant advocacy groups or councils and developing the capacity of tenants and lived experience advocates. Additionally, the sessions will explore how to effectively use tenant feedback and leadership to improve supportive housing at both the program and community levels. Participants will take away insights on building an active and empowered tenant community.

Advocacy and Community Response

Creating and sustaining supportive housing is a community effort. Sessions in this track will lift up advocacy efforts that have successfully increased funding for supportive housing. Sessions will explore innovative community responses to rising homelessness and the diverse service needs of historically marginalized groups. Participants will gain effective strategies and collaborative approaches that mobilize community members and policymakers to enhance supportive housing initiatives.

Forward-Thinking Collaborations and Community Partnerships

Successful supportive housing often results from multiple collaborative efforts at the community and program levels. This track will highlight cross-sector collaborations and community partnerships that enhance the quality of new and existing supportive housing programs. Participants will learn about the most effective strategies and partnerships that drive improvements in supportive housing.

Effective Supportive Housing Operations & Preservation Approaches

While an innovative and effective approach, many supportive housing properties have been in operation for decades and require upkeep. This track will feature funding and operational strategies to preserve and sustain current supportive housing units. Additionally, sessions will discuss how to improve program outcomes to secure additional funding and more effectively manage budgets to ensure that supportive housing properties are sustainable in the long term.

Innovative Supportive Housing Financing

 

This track highlights cutting-edge approaches to fund current and new supportive housing programs. Sessions will explore multi-sector strategies for financing supportive housing units and accessing new funding sources such as Medicaid and flexible funding options. Participants will gain insights into diverse funding mechanisms that can enhance the sustainability, quality, and reach of supportive housing services

Session Types

This year we have introduced different types of session modalities to offer you a range of learning options they include:

Conversation Corner: These short discussion groups will occur in the morning before the regular conference programing. Attendees will have the opportunity to gather together to discuss urgent topics in the field. 

Storytelling Session: Presenters will share their journey toward resolving a challenge or developing a new approach or strategy. 

Mini Master Class: Presenters will facilitate an interactive session that focuses on the how-to of an effective or promising strategy, process, technique, or tool. 

Talking circle: Presenters will lead a dynamic and engaging discussion about a key topic or trend.  

Presentation: This is a traditional panel or single speaker presentation.
