In this session, we will examine how empowering tenant leadership and fostering power sharing within supportive housing can be pivotal in advancing racial equity. Participants will gain insights into how tenant leadership can tackle systemic issues related to racial inequity, unconscious bias, and discrimination in supportive housing environments. The session will use a Talking Circle format to promote open dialogue and collaborative problem-solving, allowing participants to share experiences and learn from one another. Whether you are involved in program development, advocacy, or direct service, this session will provide valuable perspectives and practical strategies for advancing equity in supportive housing. Attendees will gain actionable tools and best practices for empowering tenants, promoting racial equity, and enhancing community involvement. Join us to explore how tenant leadership and power sharing can transform supportive housing practices and contribute to a more just and equitable society. Come and hear firsthand from someone with lived experience, alongside a facilitator of the Tenants Association, as well as a medical director and chief program officer of color who have been working relentlessly to address racial inequity in supportive housing.
