Why the Supportive Housing Summit?

The CSH Supportive Housing Summit 2027 will convene more than 800 attendees to exchange knowledge, discover innovative approaches and prepare for what lies ahead. Over two and a half days, we will feature plenaries with distinguished leaders and changemakers, breakout sessions across multiple tracks, curated networking sessions, new networking opportunities, and much more!

We'll kick off the Summit providing attendees opportunities to reconnect or network at our Summit opening reception. Join us earlier in the day for optional pre-Summit activities or a supportive housing tour.

Policy and Systems Change

 

Health & Housing Integration

Supportive housing operates within a constantly shifting policy landscape. This track highlights effective advocacy strategies, policy approaches,  cross-sector partnerships, and narrative change efforts shaping systems at the local, state, and national levels. Sessions will explore funding, implementation, communications and marketing strategies, and ways to respond to changing political and economic conditions. Participants will learn how to build public support, influence policy outcomes, engage stakeholders, and advance equitable systems through strategic storytelling, media engagement, community-centered communications, and coalition-based advocacy. Participants will gain tools to advance supportive housing and influence lasting systems change. 

Housing and health systems are increasingly interconnected. This track focuses on approaches that align healthcare, behavioral health, and supportive housing to improve outcomes for tenants with complex needs. Sessions will cover care coordination, Medicaid partnerships, and data-informed strategies. Participants will learn how to strengthen integration and support long-term stability.

Evolving Service Models

Addressing High Acuity Needs

Service models continue to change to meet shifting tenant needs. This track explores approaches for designing and delivering services that are flexible, responsive, and grounded in strong practice. Sessions will highlight tenant engagement, service adaptation, employment models (e.g. IPS or Individual Placement and Support), planning for transitions/exits (e.g. moving on initiatives) and continuous improvement. Participants will gain strategies to strengthen service delivery and support housing stability. 

As tenant needs grow more complex, service and housing approaches must adapt. This track explores practices for supporting individuals with high-acuity behavioral health needs. Sessions will highlight service models, staffing approaches, and tools that help providers respond effectively. Participants will leave with practical strategies to enhance engagement and outcomes.

Operational Sustainability and Resilience

 

Supportive Housing Design and Development

Providers face ongoing operational and financial pressures. This track focuses on strategies to strengthen organizational sustainability and day-to-day operations. Sessions will address staffing, budgeting, compliance, and risk management. Participants will gain tools to maintain strong operations in a changing environment. 

Meeting future demand requires new approaches to development. This track highlights strategies for designing and building supportive housing, including new construction and adaptive reuse. Sessions will explore development partnerships, project design, and expanding capacity. Participants will gain practical insights to advance housing development efforts.

Building Resilience in People and Organizations

Innovation, Data, Expanding Reach

Resilience is essential for both tenants and providers. This track focuses on approaches that support stability, strengthen staff capacity, and build organizational resilience. Sessions will cover trauma-informed practices, staff support, crisis response, community-building strategies, and workforce sustainability efforts, including compensation studies, staffing models, and recruitment and retention strategies. Participants will gain tools to promote long-term stability and organizational strength. 

Technological innovations, integrated data, and AI all have the potential to shape how supportive housing is delivered. This track explores practical uses of data, technology, and new approaches to improve decision-making and coordination. Sessions will also highlight models for rural, tribal, and under-resourced areas, including strategies to address local conditions. Participants will gain insights to strengthen programs and expand supportive housing across different settings.
